Hello Folks!

Hey! Apologies for my long absence!

Well, this post is rather like an announcement. I’m now researching some historical facts/ documentaries about Bo Aung Kyaw (ဗိုလ္ေအာင္ေက်ာ္). Bo Aung Kyaw was the first student leader, who sacrificed his life for Burma’s independence.

Unfortunately, he becomes one of the forgotten heroes of the Union of Burma. Almost all Yangon (Rangoon) residents know Bo Aung Kyaw Street, however, not even a ten percent of them exactly know who Bo Aung Kyaw was.

He was brutally slain by Indian Imperial Police on December 20, 1938, while leading the Rangoon University Student Boycott. So, we named that day the Bo Aung Kyaw Day of Burma in honor of Ko Aung Kyaw.

I will be posting an essay about Bo Aung Kyaw before December 20. Yet, I still have to search some more “facts”. So, if any of you have interesting historical archives, please kindly share with me. Thanks!

Dear Ba Zan Linn
Just information. The latest compilation of Ko Aung Tun
(currently under prisonment) , “Histroy of Burmese Student’
Movement”, would be helpful for your reserach.
You might have it already. :-)
