About Ba Zan
Hello Buddies!
Thank you for visiting my blog. Let me introduce myself and my site, a bit.
I am a Burmese student, who is interested to work with international community. I am currently going to the University at Buffalo, and majoring in Biological Sciences. By the grace of my parents, I was allowed to enter the wonderful world on August 4, 1987. And yes, as appeared on my blog, Ba Zan Lin is my name.
Telling the truth, I was impressed by some bloggers. So, simply, I’d like to try one! Blogging is a fun, yet I also consider it as an educational outreach.
You will see some cultural, historical and political perspectives on my blog. There is a reason for why I am posting Burmese Culture, History and Politics. Woefully, our generation has suffered political unrests of Burma. So, we lost contact with our glorious past. My initial intention is to communicate with my country men – the Burmese – and of course with new friends around the world, and to revitalize what we have lost. So, please share your ideas, views and notions.
I categorize all articles and works. For all essays, stories, articles and electives, please lookup categories under “Topics“. They can be found on “Archives“, too.
As part of my blog, I introduce you with some International Organizations focusing on Humanitarian Aids and Social Work.
The section “Special Tributes” is my tributes toward wonderful fellows of Burma, and of the World.
In my Library, you will be able to read some interesting books and articles (mostly in PDF format), written by renowned scholars. Indeed, it is my painstaking labor. Actually, most people don’t have access to browse great sources, such as JSTOR, ACLS Project, etc. Since I am privileged with my University Library Access, I decided to share my collections.
I know most people don’t really like to read Book and Movie Reviews, but I do! So, I will also post some exempts from movies and books I have tried.
News and Media will provide you some sources of Online News and Media, including video sharing sites. I hope you like it.
Besides, I will also work on my special section “iHelp”. Please visit that page for more information.
Again, I am looking forward to meet new friends around the world!

HI! I am a seventh grader in Washington DC and I am writing a paper about the Student uprisings throughout Burma’s history for National History Day. I made into the city-wide compitition but my paper still has room for improvement. I was wondedering if you knew any interesting or important information about the compromises that have been made between the military and the students and compromises that were made between the British and Aung San and the Burmese. If you get time I would really apretiate any comments that you could give me.

Congratulations, BaZanLin! You are offering an interesting service. Have you checked AungZayInstitute? U Htin Myaing is creator and also is inspired by the notion of global outreach for and to Burmese–within and throughout. Keep studying and keep reaching…jhb
